Welcome to Chimp Trails Africa! By booking a tour or using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully to understand your rights and obligations when booking a safari with us.

1. Booking and Payment Terms

Booking Confirmation
A booking is confirmed once you receive a written confirmation from Chimp Trails Africa and the required deposit is received.

Deposit
A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your safari booking. The remaining balance must be paid at least 30 days before the start of your trip.

Full Payment
For bookings made less than 30 days before the departure date, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Payment Methods
We accept payments via credit cards, bank transfers, and PayPal. Any bank or transaction fees are the responsibility of the client.

Late Payments
If the balance is not paid by the due date, Chimp Trails Africa reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit.

2. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations by Clients

  • 60 days or more before the safari: full refund minus a small administrative fee.
  • 59–30 days before the safari: 50% refund.
  • Less than 30 days before the safari: non-refundable.

Cancellations by Chimp Trails Africa
We reserve the right to cancel a tour due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, political instability, or insufficient group numbers. In such cases, we will offer an alternative tour or a full refund.

Force Majeure
Chimp Trails Africa cannot accept liability for any loss, damage, or delay resulting from events beyond our control, including war, civil unrest, natural disasters, pandemics, and government actions.

3. Amendments and Changes

Changes by the Client
If you wish to amend your booking after confirmation, please contact us as early as possible. Changes are subject to availability, and any additional costs must be covered by the client.

Changes by Chimp Trails Africa
While we strive to adhere to our itineraries, minor changes may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. Significant changes will be communicated, and alternatives will be arranged when possible.

4. Safari Activities and Risks

Wildlife Encounters
While our guides prioritize safety, wildlife safaris inherently carry some risks. Chimp Trails Africa is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage resulting from wildlife encounters.

Physical Fitness
Many activities, such as gorilla trekking or hiking, require a certain level of physical fitness. By booking, you acknowledge that you are physically able to participate and have consulted a medical professional if necessary.

Responsibility and Liability
Chimp Trails Africa acts as an agent for clients regarding travel arrangements, accommodation, and transport. We are not liable for injury, loss, or damage caused by third-party providers.

5. Travel Insurance

All clients must have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, trip cancellations, personal accidents, baggage, and repatriation. Proof of insurance may be required before the safari begins.

6. Visas, Permits, and Health Requirements

Visas and Permits
Clients are responsible for obtaining the appropriate travel documents, including visas and permits, for Uganda or other East African countries. Chimp Trails Africa can provide guidance, but responsibility lies with the client.

Health Requirements
Certain vaccinations, including Yellow Fever, may be required. Clients should consult a travel health professional for the latest requirements and take responsibility for health risks, including malaria prevention.

7. Client Conduct

Clients are expected to behave responsibly, respecting local cultures, wildlife, and park regulations. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in termination of the safari without a refund.

8. Intellectual Property

All materials, content, images, and logos used on the Chimp Trails Africa website are the property of Chimp Trails Africa. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

9. Complaints and Disputes

Complaints
If you have concerns during your safari, inform your guide or tour manager immediately so we can address the issue promptly.

Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved under Ugandan law, and legal matters will be settled in Ugandan courts.
